Eglė Vertelytė (b. 1983) is a Lithuanian screenwriter and film director. She studied History at Vilnius University, attended the European Film College in Denmark, and earned an MA in Screenwriting from the National Film and Television School in the UK. Her first documentary, UB Lama (2009), won six international awards, screened at over 20 festivals, and was sold to broadcasters worldwide. Vertelyte's feature debut Miracle premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, went on to more than 50 international festivals (including six A-class), was sold to 24 territories, and won four Silver Crane awards, including Best Film, Director, Writer, and Actress. Her second feature comedy, Tasty (2023), premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and Film Festival Cottbus, earning multiple Silver Crane nominations including Best Director and Best Screenplay. She also wrote Southern Chronicles (2024), which became one of the highest-grossing films in Lithuanian cinema history, won Best Baltic Film at Tallinn, and received several Silver Crane awards, including Best Lithuanian Film and Best Screenwriting.
