In the Words of our Guests

  • Kristele Pudane, producer

The Boston Baltic Film Festival is not only a wonderful opportunity to show the latest in Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian films, but also to attract local audiences whichever language they speak. The Festival offers its audiences a diversified array of award winning films. At the same time, the filmmakers are given the opportunity to meet the local press and promote our stories to an international audience.

  • Oskars Rupenheits LVA

The Boston Baltic Film Festival is one of the most heart-warming film festivals that I have attended. Beyond creating a multicultural event, the Festival organizers have poured their hearts and souls into it! And for that I extend my deepest thanks!

  • Anna Viduleja, director LVA

The panel discussion with the film directors is a great opportunity to discuss with the public the current situation in Baltic cinema, its future direction, challenges, and opportunities. Moderated by Boston based film critic Joyce Kulhawick, this panel provided us Baltic film professionals with much needed public support. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this Festival. I hope that this is "the beginning of a beautiful friendship”!

  • Gunita Groša

The Boston Baltic Film Festival demonstrates how the Baltic states can work together on common projects while remaining unique in their diversity. Each film and filmmaker who finds themselves in the welcoming embrace of the festival organizers, is truly fortunate.

  • Madara Dišlere, director LVA

The BBFF organizing committee applied its excellent communication skills and fine appreciation of cinema to make this Festival a significant annual event not only for the local Baltic communities, but also for the wider local audiences. This is the chance for film buffs to learn about Baltic cinema and become part of the Festival.

Madara Dišlere, director “Paradise ‘89” / BBFF 2018

  • Dzintars Dreibergs, director LVA

The organizers have worked hard to create new bridges between Latvia and the Latvians living in the US. These bridges are vitally needed to nurture and enrich our cultural heritage. The Festival is also a wonderful opportunity for Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian film professionals to meet each other which is rarely the case back home.

Dzintars Dreibergs, director “Blizzard of Souls” / BBFF 2022

  • I was honored to have my film “Bedre” included in the 4th annual Boston Baltic Film Festival. The work done by the Festival’s organizing committee was remarkable. They gave the Baltic movie industry an important opportunity for our films to be seen by viewers on the other side of the world and offered a rare chance for people to see a significant selection of Baltic films in one place and I am confident that this Festival will soon be so popular that it will attract an audience throughout America. Looking forward to seeing you again in future Festivals!
