Directed by: Staņislavs Tokalovs

When your world collapses there is nothing left but love.

Through following the twists and turns of three generations of women in the Russian-speaking Latvian film director’s family, the film attempts to look at the reality of the half-million community of Latvian Russians. The narrative unfolds through the life experiences of a grandmother, a World War II veteran who arrived in Latvia in 1955 in pursuit of a better life, a mother who serves as a university lecturer, and an eighteen-year-old daughter emerging as a talented artist.

The film tries to find out whether this family has managed to find its place in the society after 30 years of living in an independent country.

"Everything Will Be Alright" has earned not only a nomination in the Best Full-Length Documentary category, but also a recognition in the Best Director and Best Screenplay category for the notable work by Staņislavs Tokalovs and Valdis Celmiņš at the 2024 Lielais Kristaps (Big Kristaps) Latvian National Film Awards. This dual nomination highlights the film's excellence both in storytelling and documentary filmmaking, further solidifying its position among the outstanding works of the year.
