Tõnis Pill (b.1992) grew up in Tallinn, graduated from the Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School (BFM) at Tallinn University with a degree in film directing, and has furthered his education in various directing and screenwriting workshops (with Judith Weston, Jeremy Kagan, Ian Sellar, Linda Aronson, and others). He has worked on commercials and served as a first assistant director on feature length films such as Truth and Justice (2019), Kalev (2022), and Dark Paradise (2023). He has also been an assistant lecturer in directing for the 12th–14th classes at BFM's film department. Pill has been a member of the Estonian Filmmakers' Union since 2017.

He has directed short films such as Counterpoint (2016), Recover Connection (2017), Homebound (2017), and Blue (2020), winning many awards at both Estonian and international film festivals. In his work, Pill strives to create a realistic world that the viewer never doubts, while always adding a twist or detail that makes the realistic world believably extraordinary.
