Rolling Papers is a portrait of European youth as they navigate life in their twenties, grapple with uncertainty and search for purpose.
Sebastian, working as a store clerk, finds his ordinary workday shaken up when he meets Silo, a free-spirited wanderer. Together, they smoke weed and dream of a one-way ticket to Brazil.

Rolling Papers has screened internationally at CineEast, the Rehoboth Beach International Film Festival, the Northern Lights Film Festival, the Cottbus Film Festival, as well as NYC Baltic Film Days and London Baltic Film Days. The film now comes to Boston for its New England premiere at the Boston Baltic Film Festival.

“This is a film about young people who don't know what to do with their lives," said the film's director, Meel Paliale. The dialogue and characters in the screenplay are based on many real-life situations and people. "If our previous film took place in a parallel universe, then now we wanted to tell a story that captures the lives and thoughts of young people today as realistically as possible," added Urmet Piiling.
