The film explores the philosophy, family life, and music of renowned Estonian composer Arvo Pärt through archival material, interviews, and intimate domestic moments. Its title is drawn from Pärt’s own musical notebooks, reflecting his deeply spiritual and creative journey. Blending concert footage with home videos and conversations with Pärt and his wife, Nora, the film offers insight into his inner world and the evolution of his signature tintinnabuli style.
This film is Dorian Supin’s third documentary, and his second film about Arvo Pärt (the first was the 2002 film, 24 Preludes for a Fugue). In many ways, Even If I Lose Everything resembles Pärt’s music: it is contemplative, emotionally evocative, spacious, and spiritual.
